Daniel Meeks: I needed something a little weaker than the Hammer Infection, so I drilled an Epidemic, I drilled it 70x4 3/8x23 Dual Angle. It goes longer and is not as aggressive off the break point. The color scheme of this ball makes it an eye catcher as it goes down the lane. It is a great complement to the Infection and is a great ball all around.

Tom Shipley: I needed a strong Pearl to add to my arsenal so I decided to try this ball. I used a 65 x 3 3/8 x 25 dual angle drilling and left the ball at the box finish. After throwing it for a few practice sessions I decided it was too strong for a broken down house pattern but not strong enough for a fresh house pattern. So I sanded the ball up to 4000 Abralon and polished it with Powerhouse's Factory Finish polish. That solved the issue with the ball breaking too early on the broken down shot by allowing it to store energy much longer. The shelf appeal of this balls' 8 color coverstock will get alot of attention, but if used on the right pattern your scores will get even more attention.

Michael Price: Hammer Epidemic
Weight: 15#
Pin: 3-4"
Top Weight: 3.25 oz.
Layout: 60x4.5x60
First Impressions:
Ball gets through the heads very clean and has plenty of angular motion on the backend.
General Thoughts:
This one is most angular out of the three in the series (Plague, Infection, Epidemic). Best used on Medium to Medium oil conditions. Works great as the first ball out of the bag most of the time in league for myself.
Comparison/Contrast:
Versus the Plague
Plague handles oil better but does not have the angular backend motion the Epidemic does. If your THS is noticeably drier then you could see action with the Epidemic right away.
Versus the Infection
Although the Infection has more of a backend reaction than the Plague, the Epidemic out performs the Infection when it comes to backend reaction. The Infection can handle more head oil too.
Overall Thoughts:
A lot of ball without the high price tag. Definitely worth looking into, and the ball has some very eye catching colors to boot. If you are seeking clean reaction through the front with a ton of backend pop, you should consider the Epidemic!
