Daniel Meeks: This ball is very good for heavier oil patterns, it clears the heads really good and actually reads the lanes quicker than the previous Black Widow series. This ball allows me to play deeper. This ball is great if you need something for heavy oil.
Michael Price: I have drilled 2 of these so far.
Ball # 1 I used a 60 degree MB placement followed up with a 5" Pin to PAP and a 60 degree pin height. This places the Pin at 12 o'clock (or above the bridge).
The Sting has some killer backend reaction; yet, still keeps going without losing energy down lane. I have found this ball to be way too strong on the conditions I have bowled on thus far, which is why my Burn has got a lot of work in lately.
Ball # 2 I used a 65 degree MB placement followed up with a 6" Pin to PAP and a 50 degree pin height. This places the pin at 11 o'clock.
This Sting is a much smoother even rolling ball with the layout and for me is the most preferred because this ball still has decent flare potential. On a medium condition I can play straight mostly and then chase it inside and not have to worry about the possibility of the ball burning too much energy up front.
If you seek a ball with the capabilities to have decent pop on the backend in the oil then I would highly suggest a Black Widow Sting.
